Polar Denim Fit Guide

Since its conception over 15 years ago, Polar's been on a mission build a complete denim collection with a full spectrum of fits and styles. It all started with the 'Big Boy Jeans'. When Polar founder Pontus started developing them, it was about getting back to the core of skateboarding style. He used those ’90s skate silhouettes as inspiration. He noticed something consistent: the movement of loose fabric added to the flow of skating.
Keep in mind, this was at a time when slim fits still dominated - and the aim was to bring back volume. Early on, not everyone understood it, some people clowned it, but over time, it became the most recognised fit in the range. From there, the range expanded to cover the gaps in between. The 91! Pants introduced a high-waisted, straight-leg option that sits between tapered and slim, a more refined everyday silhouette. The 92!, 93!, and Big Boys generally sit on a lower rise, but like everything in the range, they’re designed to be worn how you want them. If you like something more fitted, consider the 89! Pants, one of the newer and slimmer additions to their lineup.
Today, that vision is fully realised. The denim range covers loose, tapered, straight, and slim fits across a wide range of washes. It’s a line-up built to work across body types, personal style, + how people actually want to wear their jeans day to day.
However, all that variety, invites a world of questions. From silhouette queries, sizing uncertainties and more. To make things clearer, we've put together a denim guide - a straightforward breakdown of every fit in the range, how they compare, and how they’re "meant" to be worn.

Polar uses its own exclusive denim fabrics, developed in unique yarns, indigo tones, and wash treatments. Every piece is made from 100% cotton, and each roll of fabric behaves slightly differently, some shrink more, some stretch more. This natural variation is part of the process. Because of that, slight differences in fit can occur even within the same model and size. Where possible, we always recommend coming in-store and trying different styles and sizes on to truely Find Your Fit.
