Carhartt WIP Denim Fit Guide

FIND YOUR FIT.

Carhartt WIP makes a lot of denim, but when it comes to the three styles we stock most, the differences really come down to how much room you want through the leg, where you want the jeans to sit, and whether you prefer a straight or tapered leg.

The Brandon, Landon + Aaron cover a pretty broad spectrum, from a loose, baggy straight leg through to a cleaner, more controlled tapered fit.

If you're not sure which one is for you, we've broken them down below. Think of it as a quick way to work out which Carhartt WIP fit makes the most sense for how you actually like to wear your jeans

AARON

Regular + Tapered:

The cleanest and most controlled fit of the three. The Aaron is cut in a regular tapered fit, with less volume through the thigh than the Landon before narrowing towards the hem. It still has plenty of room to move, but feels noticeably neater and closer to the leg.

It has a regular rise and a more traditional five-pocket jean shape.

FIT: Regular tapered
RISE: Regular
LEG: Moderate thigh + tapered hem
FEEL: Clean + relaxed

Best for: Anyone who wants a relaxed everyday jean without going into a baggy or oversized silhouette.

LANDON

Loose + Tapered

The Landon sits between the Brandon and Aaron. It keeps the roominess of a loose fit through the hips and upper leg, but starts to narrow below the knee. This gives you plenty of space up top without the leg staying as wide all the way to the hem.

The Landon also sits higher than the Brandon, with a regular/mid rise.

FIT: Loose tapered
RISE: Regular / mid
LEG: Roomy thigh + tapered hem
FEEL: Relaxed + balanced

Best for: Anyone who wants the volume of a baggier jean without a completely straight leg.

BRANDON

Loose + Straight

The loosest and widest of the three. The Brandon is cut with plenty of room through the seat, thigh and leg, finishing with a straight hem that doesn't taper in towards the ankle. It also has a lower rise, giving the fit a more relaxed, dropped feel.

If you like your jeans baggy, roomy and straight from the knee down, this is the one.

FIT: Loose straight
RISE: Low
LEG: Wide + straight
FEEL: Baggy + relaxed

Best for: Anyone looking for a proper loose-fitting jean with plenty of volume through the entire leg.

They're all designed to be worn their own way, so there's no "right" fit. The best one comes down to how much volume you like through the leg and how you want your jeans to sit.

And if you're still unsure, that's what we're here for. We've got the different fits in-store so you can try them side by side and find the one that works for you.

He headed out with Adventure Tracks Australia on a 3-day boat camping mission along the island’s wild west coast. Remote stretches of shoreline, setting up camp as they went, and living almost entirely off what they could catch and gather.
